Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is looking for a Java Developer Associate in New York City.
Job Responsibilities:

Design and implement new trading processes related to clearing, affirmation, and novation for live production systems.

Work closely with external vendors like clearing houses to monitor any changes impacting services.

Perform timely software and hardware upgrades based on vendor requirements, including data center moves and API updates.

Manage testing for new software releases from vendors.

Maintain and manage team infrastructure such as CPS, UNIX servers, firewalls, Splunk, and scheduled jobs (CronJobs).

Collaborate with TriClear stakeholders to collect and analyze project requirements.

Provide support to TriClear users for clearing, affirmation, and novation workflows.

Fix bugs and enhance code across different software components.
Salary:
-
The base salary range for this role is expected to be $147,000 to $150,000 per year at the start, but final pay will be individually determined.

The total compensation package may include commissions, bonuses, incentives, and other benefits offered by Morgan Stanley.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

At least 2 years of experience as a software developer or in a similar tech role.

Strong knowledge of Java, C#, Unix/Linux, Spring Boot and Spring Framework.

Experience with multi-threaded programming.

Understanding of derivatives clearing markets and processes including affirmation, novation consent, and OTC trade confirmation.

Familiarity with interest rate swaps, FX trading, and regulatory reporting across multiple regions.

Experience building high-frequency, concurrent trading applications.

Knowledge of financial communication protocols such as FIX, MQ, and FPML.

Experience with Jenkins, distributed systems, and DB2 databases.
