Java Developer (Senior)

MicroHealth is looking for an experienced and talented Senior Java Developer who thrives on building scalable, reliable software solutions. You’re well-versed in AWS cloud-native environments and have a solid background in Healthcare EDI. You’ll be joining a cohesive, collaborative team that’s eager to welcome someone ready to contribute to the development of a new platform and a suite of innovative products. In this role, you’ll be involved in everything from architecture discussions to execution and code quality improvement. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain Java applications and services for a new platform and product suite, while also providing technical leadership.

• Collaborate with the team to provide input on system design and engineering solutions.

• Engage in the agile development process to support successful project delivery.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices to maintain high-quality standards.

• Enhance application performance and scalability.

• Provide occasional mentorship to junior developers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of professional experience in Java development.

• Strong command of Java 17 and core Java concepts.

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Cloud.

• Familiar with Hibernate ORM.

• Solid understanding of SQL and experience with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Proficient in developing RESTful APIs and web services.

• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming and design patterns.

• Experience using Maven and Git.

• Comfortable in an agile development environment.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the healthcare IT industry.

• Knowledge of Healthcare EDI standards.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture.

• Experience working with AWS.

• Knowledge of Docker and containerization technologies.

• Exposure to Angular or other front-end frameworks.

• Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines.

Physical Requirements:

This is a primarily sedentary role requiring regular sitting, occasional standing and walking, and frequent hand use for typing or handling items. Lifting of objects up to 5 pounds may be needed. Visual abilities such as close-up work, distance vision, and color perception are also required.
