About the Role

Alpha Omega is looking for a skilled Java Developer to join their federal programs team. This remote position in Arlington, VA, involves developing and maintaining software solutions using Agile methodologies. The developer will work on defining, designing, and supporting Java-based applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient system development and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Design: Develop and implement application solutions, translating requirements into functional applications.
  • Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and integrate features into the web applications.
  • System Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve application issues, optimizing performance and functionality.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead development efforts, guiding junior developers on multi-threaded projects.
  • Data Management: Support database normalization and ensure system efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation for system architecture, application processes, and user guides.
  • Quality Control: Enforce code quality standards and perform peer reviews to enhance code reliability.

Required Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in software application development
  • Skills: Proficiency with Java, SOA, WebLogic, and web application frameworks
  • Tools: Experience with source control (GitHub), databases (MSSQL, MySQL, or Oracle), and Agile development
  • Additional: Knowledge of Azure, AWS, and data management tools is preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with ETL processes and DataStage scripting
  • Previous experience with government or federal client projects

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $81,542 to $140,000 (based on experience)
