About the Role
SII Belgium is looking for a driven and enthusiastic Java Developer to strengthen our team. In this position, you will design, build, and maintain software applications, as well as enhance existing systems. You’ll be part of Agile teams working on projects across sectors such as Energy, Retail, Banking, and Media.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on the design and architecture of Java solutions with analysts and architects.
- Analyze business requirements and perform functional analysis.
- Implement continuous integration and deployment practices.
- Deliver robust, scalable Java web applications within set timelines and budgets.
- Develop high-quality websites and applications that surpass client expectations.
- Test, debug, and resolve technical challenges in applications.
- Support pre-sales efforts by providing technical insights to commercial teams.
- Contribute to the growth of Java expertise within SII Belgium.
- Assist project managers during project estimation.
- Provide training to clients and end-users.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies like Scrum and TDD.
- Strong knowledge of Java Spring MVC.
- Skilled in JPA/Hibernate, Maven, GIT, SVN, Jenkins.
- Familiarity with HTML5, CSS frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap), and JavaScript frameworks (such as jQuery, AngularJS, ReactJS) is a plus.
- Passion for web application and website development.
- Understanding of software best practices and design standards.
- Fluent in English and Dutch or French.
