About the Role

Avanterra is seeking a Junior Java Developer to join its IT team in Luxembourg. As a Junior Java Developer, you will play a vital role in developing, enhancing, and supporting critical financial data solutions, contributing directly to the company’s product growth and technological innovation.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and deploy robust Java-based software solutions.
Collaborate with product teams to deliver client-centric features.
Enhance existing platforms by implementing performance improvements and new functionalities.
Document technical designs and implementations with clarity and precision.
Engage in continuous learning, receiving mentorship from senior developers.
Ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements in product development.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
Proficiency in: Java (versions 8 to 17), Hibernate, Spring (Core), SQL, Git, Maven, Unix, and HTTP.
Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, particularly in financial data contexts.
Familiarity with systems engineering concepts and modeling techniques.
Ability to thrive in a continuous delivery environment (Jenkins, Nexus, Sonar).
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
Eagerness to learn, take on challenges, and collaborate within a high-performance team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with: Spring Security/Batch, AWS (EC2, RDS, CloudFormation), GWT, Jasper, Oracle.
Interest in financial technologies and regulatory reporting.
Previous exposure to cloud services and advanced frameworks.
