About the Role
This role seeks an experienced Full Stack Java Developer to support the modernization and maintenance of critical healthcare systems serving U.S. Medicare beneficiaries. The position involves working remotely within an agile team to develop front-end and back-end components, build APIs, and enhance cloud-based applications that streamline Medicare claims processing workflows. The developer will contribute to automated deployments and collaborate closely with operations to optimize application performance on AWS.
Responsibilities
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain AWS-based web applications and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, React, and related technologies.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes.
- Analyze requirements, develop software solutions, debug, and document specifications using tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering and Operations teams to ensure optimized and secure application performance.
- Develop responsive and accessible front-end components with modern JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years in software development with strong expertise in Java API and full-stack Java development.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Groovy, Ansible, or SonarQube.
- Solid knowledge of AWS cloud services and deployment practices; certifications like AWS Certified Developer – Associate or Solutions Architect – Associate preferred.
- Proficiency in programming languages and tools including Groovy, Python, Bash, Go, Markdown, XML, JSON, SQL, ReactJS, CSS, and XHTML.
- Experience working with AWS databases such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and database migration tools like Flyway.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with government healthcare projects, specifically Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or similar agencies.
- Background in financial services or insurance industry, especially involving legacy system modernization.
- Familiarity with agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- AWS certifications are considered a strong advantage.
