Role: Lead – Backend (JAVA API / SQL / SPRING BOOT)

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Lead to spearhead the development and maintenance of our server-side applications. As the Backend Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of developers, architecting and implementing robust APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and SQL. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the scalability, performance, and security of our backend systems.
Responsibilities: Leadership and Mentorship:
Lead and mentor a team of backend developers, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of projects.
Architecture and Development:
Design and implement scalable and maintainable backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and SQL.
Develop RESTful APIs that are secure, efficient, and well-documented.
Build and maintain data models for optimal performance and data integrity.
Integrate with third-party services and databases.
Technical Expertise:
Stay abreast of the latest technologies and trends in backend development.
Implement best practices for code quality, security, and performance.
Continuously improve development processes and tools.
Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
Proactively monitor system health and performance.
Debug and troubleshoot complex issues.
Collaboration:
Work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in backend development with a strong focus on Java.
- Expert knowledge of Spring Boot framework and its ecosystem.
- Extensive experience with SQL databases and relational database design.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
